It was confirmed by a classmate that Sunoo Jay and Yuna are classmates, could you do a reading on their bond?
♡♡Sunoo, jay and Yuna Bond (extremely detailed) Tarot reading ♡♡
Hello lovely, sorry for the late reply, I just returned from my long awaited hiatus and am now refreshed and ready to accept requests<33 ( Yuna and the enha members you mentioned have a very specific energy flowing for them, kinda like the GIF so I'm eager to do this reading as well<3 ) Before I start, a quick Disclaimer:Tarot readings are subject to interpretation. All tarot readings given by me are for entertainment purposes only. Choosing to believe in the tarot is a choice.
Now, for Yuna, she always has this mature energy whenever I read for her, kind of like a desert rose. As I used to read for many of the ITZY members after their debut, I found that Yuna is probably the member with the biggest shift in energy. I am aware that They have all graduated and so this is more of a where their relationship is going moving forward, and what had happened before to cause that.
Jay and Sunoo seem closer than ever, this is evident in their daily interactions, and the fact that they're both in the same band probably makes that ideal for their improvement as a whole. Sunoo and Yuna definitely had a more flowering bond that Jay and Yuna. Honestly speaking, looking at the card placement, I doubt that Jay and Yuna ever really interacted in the first place. It seems like a hit or miss, Jay and Yuna would see each other for a second at a mutual friends get together, or a certain class, if taken at all. Jay never really took an initiative to speak with her, and maybe there was a reason behind it? Like an ACTUAL serious reason. Now, it's very evident that ITZY and Enhypen have been close at times away from the public eye, Especially Yuna, cozying up to a certain member (which I will not speak for~). ~~~This could have impacted Jay's chance at forming a relationship/friendship with her, despite him wanting to make amends. Now with Sunoo, he feels as if his feet are in cold water due to his inherent liking for Yuna and what was once a blossoming friendship seems to have dissipated into thin air. This seems to be from a certain awkwardness or from a lack of time/energy for them to reach out after graduation~? Perhaps from schedules or a lack of interest from both parties.
Reading for Jay and Yuna is like Reading for Jake and Ryujin, a ship that never seems to set sail. I just don't feel romantic energy at all any more, but there definitely could have been in the past, only a simple barrier stopping him. Either an inconsequential girlfriend, or maybe someone else with Yuna. (irrlyhatetobethebearerofbadnewsbut) a lot of idols date, and most of it isn't serious, esp among up and coming/rookies… Turns out, dating bans are mostly for public/ obvious dating? Like for example, if idols were to go out to private clubs/secret parties, companies wouldn't even bother trying to stop them. There's a WHOLE life inside of being an idol and soooo many scandals that will never be uncovered cuz of the kids that come from rich companies (heavy on the big 3 cough cough** YG cough ** cough**) that pay off news outlets (corrupt ik right).
Okay but Sunoo, he seems to actually be such a sweetheart, OMFG. A lot of idols I read for aren't actually the people they appear to be online, but Sunoo FRR just chilling. He was SCANDAL FREE until a few months ago, where something to do with a crush popped up, and the members found out? But it was swept under the rug immediately as it was quote on quote “Unconventional” ykykyk I'm just not going to elaborate because that's some HEAVY stuff that could end his career if it were to be shared among K-netz...
Yuna right now seems to have moved on from her High school phase, as she is speedily trying to outgrow the childish image others set out for her… She seems to be getting involved in the wrong crowd recently? Or maybe it's just a switch in concept from the company. Anyway, I feel a much more at peace version of Yuna than ever before, as she seems to have let go of any past jealousy or misunderstanding/failed attempts at forming connections.
That's it for the reading my loves<3 a bit heavy, but it must be said… I do answer requests, so please do feel free to send me some (anons welcome), and I do in fact also do personal Tarot readings! Here and Personal ships Here
Buy me a Coffee<3

This is a sort of difficult post, I will however make it a Happy Birthday, things will become clear as you read on.
I sometimes don’t know what is going to crop up on the anniversary fronts, some are easy, like The Battle of Largs one from earlier, it pops up in other posts throughout the year concerning one of our most written about Kings, Alexander III, then there’s our birthday girl today, “Licorice” McKechnie, who I hope is somewhere enjoying her day, please read on to make sense of my words.
Christina ‘Licorice’ McKechnie was born in Edinburgh in 1945, there is nothing about her early life online that I can find, her story starts when she left home-and was set to marry, the late great Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch. The banns had been called, (Banns were a legal requirement and were an intention of marriage, posted for people to see in their parish,) the wedding never took place, Jansch left Scotland for Morroco.
It was some time after this that “Likkie” as she was known began a relationship with Robin Williamson who along with Robin, Clive Palmer and Mike Heron had formed The Incredible String Band. The group split for a time when Williamson and Likkie went travelling but reformed on their return as a duo with just Williamson and Heron. They later played on the same bill as Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell.
Likkie joined then as vocalist and they recorded the album, The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion. The band went on to have success touring but had little commercial success. They got involved with Scientology in the 60’s and it is said to have contributed to a decline in their music quality.
The Incredible String Band did however play Woodstock in 69. They were scheduled to play the first day and a fee of $4500 had been agreed, this would have been a huge sum for them back in the 60’s and you would have thought bigger things beckoned. The band didn’t appear on the film of the festival as they refused to play in the rain, their slot was taken by the fabulous Melanie (Safka) who later wrote “Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)” about her day, she had a global hit with Brand New Key in 1971.
It must have been dry next day as “String Band” eventually played on a mainly rock day, but the world missed out and so did they.
Rewinding a little by late 1969, the band had established a communal base at Glen Row near Innerleithen, Likkie and Robin split around this time although she remained in the group till 1972.
After a failed marriage to musician Brian Lambert she featured on an album with Williamson and his Merry men and an album with Woody Woodmansey’s band U-Boat.It’s after this that very little of her is known, Christina visited her family in Edinburgh in 1986, her sister said she was in Sacramento California four years later.
Music journalist Mark Ellen wrote in Mojo magazine in 2000 that she was “last seen in 1987 hitchhiking across the Arizona Desert. Not even her family has heard from her since.” Fellow former Incredible String Band member Rose Simpson was quoted as saying: “… There’s a possibility she may be dead.”
Trying to find info on Likkie is tough, some say she must be dead, there have been mentions that she (is) “living in plain sight in California” If she is still alive she will be 76 today, I hope she is, and I hope she is happy and still living the Hippie lifestyle she seemed to embrace.
I was listening and downloading some music earlier and this was one of the tracks that cropped, just a coincidence? Happy Birthday Likkie, where ever you are.

Le Bien Qui Fait Mal - Dave x Reader (Lost River)
GIF Credit: X
@mandy23b @wltz-bby @happyskywhale #mendotagsquad
Dave + 27 - “No. Regrets.” Requested by @sufferthesea
Author’s Note: Special mention to @crawlingmist for building on my plot. It’s with great pleasure that I get to bring you this, with a song from my favourite musical! 😏😁
I barely needed to edit this one either. Sometimes, sometimes I get it just right... The translated lyrics to the song are below, but really you need the song. No matter that it’s in French. It’s very Dave. The whole Aesthetic.
Le Bien Qui Fait Mal - Mozart L’Opera Rock Disclaimer: MoR lyrics not mine / Lost River and all associated things not mine / gif not mine / some direct quoting from ‘Lost River’ used 😅
Premise: You’re the first singer that Dave has employed at his club, you also have a ‘je ne sais quoi’ that floods his thoughts. His curiosity can only be sated one way...
Words: 2530
Warnings: Sexual Connotations/Pre-Amble / Swearing
--- Where is this strange feeling coming from? It fascinates me as much as it unsettles me I shiver, pieced by beauty It’s like a knife in my soul The wound goes through my heart And I take joy in the pain Intoxicated by this poison Until I lose my mind! It’s so good it hurts When you love, your hatred is perfectly normal Take Pleasure It’s so good to suffer Succumb to the spell Shed your tears It’s so good it hurts (hurts me) When you love, your sorrow is perfectly banal (it’s so good it hurts) True delights Come from torture Lower your weapons Shed your tears I feel violent urges It seems like I’m slipping into the depths If I ignore the source of this curse I love letting it under my skin Bewitched by mad ideas Suddenly my urges arise Desire becomes my prison Until I lose my mind!
---
The world was spinning. Like he was drunk, or maybe high. Or maybe he was something else...
Whatever he was, Dave was out of his head. He was going crazy; he was confused. Because he didn’t know why. You? The sound of your voice? What you were wearing? All of it? All of that in this setting? He wanted so badly to look away but Dave couldn’t tear his eyes from you. The pleasure was insane, but it almost hurt just as bad. Wasn’t that the point, after all. Wasn’t that why this club existed?
Dave didn’t have a singer at his club. He didn’t see himself as counting, he didn’t sing every night. It was a rarity; his treat and gift to everyone. Until you. And Dave wasn’t here every night to listen to you sing - but right now he felt that was going to change. He had heard you sing before - your voice sweet and pretty, gently melodic. One that - in his opinion - would sound good mixed with his (no matter what way that would be). But a short one song audition for him and a voice he liked wasn’t this.
This was a culmination of all of that. Yet your voice tonight? Oooh... this was deeper, richer, sultry. With the music and lyrics too? Dave thought about loosening buttons. He relaxed the way he was sitting and tried to take a calming deep breath. It helped nothing. He wondered if you’d been nervous before - a job you desperately needed? - now you were in your element; but it couldn’t have been him that had made you nervous. Because, as if feeling like this wasn’t enough, your eyes hadn’t moved from staring at him.
Usually Dave would love to have a gorgeous woman stare at him like this. He was a typical ‘love them and leave them.’ People didn’t steal his heart - the only relationship Dave was ever really after was physical. And yes, yes, you were affecting him like that. He’d make sure you knew you didn’t get to give him such a stare without being pinned up against something, somewhere. Still, his heart. His pulse was running wild - Dave didn’t blush, but if he thought he was capable… He didn’t know what was happening, but he felt sick. Dave shifted again, finally able to prize his eyes away from you. He squeezed them tightly shut, feeling lightheaded once more. Rob leant over, “You okay?” “Yeah...” Dave counted himself lucky that his voice managed to be that steady, then he nodded “Yeah.” Then waved towards the stage, “After she’s done. Send her to me.” He cleared his throat, eyes drawn back to you. “I think we need a little talk...”
** The club was emptying by the time you got a chance to go to him. That was mostly because Rob, with his own duties, was delayed in getting the message to you, and you had a few things you had to attend to yourself before you heeded Dave’s call. By that time it was getting late anyway, so you preferred to wait until the club was quiet to go to him. Dave found the waiting time more agony than he could possibly imagine. He was supposed to be enjoying everyone else’s performances, but he simply couldn’t. His mind stirred and always sent him back to you – the way it felt like those eyes of yours were reaching into his very soul and uncovering the darkest secrets he held, it was more than just seeing through him – you were undoing him, piece by piece. And sitting here waiting for you, Dave was forced to relive it. He closed his eyes trying to block you out, somehow, but you were already in his head. You weren’t about to let go. With realisation, Dave knew that he wouldn’t let you go either. Not until he had what you had him aching for. When you walked smoothly back out onto the stage, Dave was still sitting at his top table. One leg crossed over the other he was tipping his chair back – taking long, slow drags from his cigarette. His blue eyes flicked to you as soon as he noticed your presence. Even without the lights and the ambiance, you were still striking standing up there. He couldn’t ignore that; it clearly wasn’t the club, it was just you – and you were setting him on fire. Dave kept his eyes on you as he placed his cigarette to his lips once more and you swallowed hard, you weren’t sure that you could trust him. You weren’t sure about a lot of things, this job and the people that worked here. But you were sure that you wanted him, and nearly just as sure that he felt the same. Even from way up here, it wasn’t hard to see your effect on him considering you’d been watching him for your entire set. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realise- Would you like me to come and sit with you?” You were gentle and polite, and moved towards the steps down onto the floor. Dave stilled you as he set his chair back on all four legs and rose, taking one last drag before he stubbed out his cigarette. “Stay.” He walked across the room, not breaking your eye contact. Dangerous. Yet, you were attracted to that danger. Dave joined you on stage, wasting no time; “Pick a song.” “Sorry?” “A song. Pick one.” It was more of a demand than anything, yet it still left you confused. “May I ask why?” He wasn’t sure if he was impressed with you or annoyed. Why would you not just do as he asked? And yet he admired that you weren’t shying away from him with a timid stammer. “Sing with me.” Your face flushed, but your nerve held; “You sing?” Then before he could respond, which meant Dave was reduced to nodding, “Why ask me to perform if you can sing?” “Why wear out my talents every evening?” Dave turned his eyes to the empty room and flashed a smirk, “No. I’ll only sing on occasion, my dear – not everyone out there deserves to hear me.” You dared to look away from him to find some kind of music player – the lack of one would mean he wanted to sing with you acapella. You regarded him again, wondering what his singing voice was like. What it might feel like to hear it for the first time – if he’d be able to harmonize with you. What if it was you that couldn’t harmonize with him? He stared at you again, curiously, awaiting your answer. “What if you don’t know it?” “You’d be surprised. What’s your choice?” “There’s no music.” “You best not be trying to get out of this…” He walked forward to the microphones, beckoning you with him – and you followed. Unnervingly eager to hear this for yourself. “With a voice as intoxicating as yours, you hardly need musical accompaniment.” Dave’s eyes flashed and your lips parted – but you realised he was daring you to retaliate to such a seemingly forbidden piece of information. “Now come on.” He placed his hand to the shell of his ear, “I still haven’t heard a name…” You gave him one and for a moment you wondered if you had found something he didn’t know, as Dave stood in silence staring at the ceiling. You nearly jumped as the eerie silence was suddenly filled with a hummed melody at his recollection. The smirk returned as his gaze fell back to your face. “Am I right?” “…Yes…” You breathed, stepping to the mic. He took a step away and nodded, indicating that the floor was yours. Convinced that none of this could have been for a good reason, you took a deep breath and closed your eyes; imagining the opening notes in your head, imagining there was really a band behind you and crowd in front. All here for you, but also him. You opened your eyes again and with your confidence, incredibly, sky-high you began singing. Dave lost it almost immediately. You were still dressed as you had been when you’d performed; to be honest with the level of attraction he was still feeling towards you – whether that be purely lust, or something more, he didn’t know – it would have been enough. But when there was no music to focus on, when it was just your voice, it was almost worse. Beautiful and haunting, as you hit every note; Dave didn’t even think you’d have needed a microphone what with the way it echoed around the deserted building. You had no pressure here, no one was focusing on you, you didn’t have to be the source of entertainment – just to sing whatever you wanted. Then he joined you, and were you not in the zone, you would have tripped on your notes – you certainly nearly lost key as he brought his up to yours. His voice was smooth and rich, a little different to that semi-raspy tone he usually talked with. And as you continued to sing together, playfully pushing him into high and low sections, between softer sequences and real power notes you couldn’t help but be shocked at the range he had. A voice that was persuasive, seductive, but, like him, not quite true and trustworthy. A voice that didn’t ask you to do something, but gently implied you should do it – until it was all you could think about. Until you wanted to do it for him. Not ‘will you?’; ‘You will.’. You weren’t sure what that thing was either, but it certainly had a hold of you – and you had a distinct feeling you were now looking at each other in exactly the same way. You were both asking for trouble. As the song and your voices faded out, and the room lapsed back into silence, your ears were ringing. The tension you felt in your body surrounded you, it was in the very air you were breathing – and Dave crossed the stage with purpose before grabbing you. You expected it, the way he pulled you into him, and your fingers dug into his arms as his kiss engulfed you. It felt better than the sound of his voice insisted that it would, and you were sure you were going insane at the feel of him this close to you. His pull back was quick and violent – and although his blue eyes were dark and telling you exactly what he wanted, his glare was also hard. But you were smirking; because you had Dave right where you wanted him. “Who are you?” “Too much for you to handle.” You stepped back into him, letting him know that you were hardly afraid of him – nor to admit what you wanted. His intake of breath was sharp and he shook his head, eyes searching yours for a sign that you were teasing. You best not be – you best mean it. “Y/N. Let me tell you something, right now. I like to fuck and when I meet a bad bitch, it drives me crazy. But you drive me crazier than any other fucking woman I’ve ever known. And I want you NOW.” He wasn’t sure what he would see in you as he gripped you a little tighter, but your smile was not it. It didn’t look like it belonged on your face, sinfully wicked, to accompany your small laugh. You very nearly took Dave’s breath away. Your eyes ran his body as you replied, drawing up slowly, the lip bite was teasing – but the kind he wanted to tolerate; “I’ve been here enough times to have seen you sitting on your little table. And you drive me crazy.” You pulled him closer to your body, wrapping your arms around his neck and locked your intense stare with his; “Coincidentally - you’re the only man in this club I’m here for, and the only one I’d let put his hands all over me.” Dave bit his lip, this hum not of notes but of satisfaction. You meant business. You craved him as much as he did you. With your arms around his neck the decision was already made, he hoisted you off the floor and walked you from the stage to the first table he saw. Though the patrons had vacated the premises, drinks glasses and bottles still adorned nearly all the tables. But with your body pressed up against his, and the feel of your heart beat – erratic in anticipation – Dave couldn’t care less about that. Holding you strong in one arm he cleared the table with one sweep of his other, before laying you back on it. The crash of breaking glass deterred neither one of you. But he paused for just a second as his hands found either side of your waist. “Promise me something.” You tilted your head to the side, wondering what exactly Dave – of all people – would want you to promise now. Why he’d want you to promise anything. You weren’t exactly sure you cared if this was a one-time thing. “What is it you want me to promise?” “That you won’t regret this.” You raised an eyebrow, wondering if that was something he should be saying. Did women often regret sleeping with him? Instead you simply smiled, pulling him down to kiss you. “No. Regrets.” His eyes fluttered closed for a moment as he accepted your kiss, and then he straightened. Hooking your legs around himself Dave held you there, gaze locking with yours again. It was clear he wanted you to know exactly what you were doing to him with the way he pushed himself against you. You didn’t see the point in holding back your groan – Dave already knew you craved him. His fingertips grazing along your skin, taking your dress with them, was something else altogether – and as he rolled his hips over yours, your eyes fluttered closed. “Oh… Dave…” Your voice was soft, whispered just for him. His fingers brushed down your thighs as your dress climbed higher up your body. Dave paused again, with a delicious little smirk before he bent to kiss you once more – liking the feel of your fingers running through his hair to mess it up. He figured he’d quite like you to be pulling it, but Dave would save that for later. “You are so fucking beautiful.” He placed his hands on your hips, and had the audacity to wink at you. He got the feeling you’d be feisty. He liked that. Dave hooked his fingers under your lingerie, and pushing them to one side. His blue eyes flashed once more, darkening as they flicked back to your face. All he wished to know then was if your sex was as torturous as your presence. What that gorgeous voice of yours would sound like now. So good it hurts… You bit your lip, moving your hips eagerly in anticipation. You got the feeling by the look on his face, that regret wasn’t even going to remotely factor into this.

All of them. Every single fall themed ask at once. Lets see how you like it. (love you)
Whatever. Something to do in bio. Love you too boo.
Lantern: (how did you meet your best friend?) I have three. For Evan, they said something about the flannel I was wearing. I didnt like them that much to start out, they were too bubbly for my taste. For TJ, I was friends with his best friend in 6th grade. She left and I didnt have any friends so J tried to become friends with him and Angel. I loved him, he was so sassy and cool. For Kass, the asshole who's making me do this, it was 6th grade science. I didn't know what to call them and spent the entire year trying to figure it out but being too afraid to ask. They were actually pretty cool. Idk what all of their initial opinions of me were.
Frost: (if you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say?) Quit pretending you're an adult, itll just hurt you. Let yourself dress masculine, it's ok to do that. And it's ok to like girls like you do, dont be afraid to express yourself.
Maple: (is there a hobby/skill you've always wanted to try but never did?) Yeah, I always wanted to be on a little league football team when I was little.
Harvest: (what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?) Dean winchester. Because I am just..... basically him if he wasnt raised in an environment with toxic masculinity *cough cough* John *cough cough*
Fireside: (if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?) Flannel, band tees, everything would be from the Mens section. Some binders for masculine and nb days and lots of mens skinny jeans. Also David Bowie Vans, pride converse, and combat boots.
Cider: (a food that you disliked as a child but now enjoy?) Idk. For a period of time I hated coffee, I dont mind it now.
Amber: (share an unpopular opinion that you may have.) Oof. Um, christians aren't necessarily bad, the ones we all know of are because they hide behind the bible to hate people.
Fog: (how well do you think you'd do in a zombie apocalypse scenario?) Either really well or terribly. I'd either let then get me, or wear a medieval suit of armor and just walk through everywhere boss mode. And Costco.
Jack-O-Lantern: (if you could look like any celebrity, who would you choose?) Ruby rose.
Spice: (have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted?) Yes. Mine. Creepy baby handprints in the basement. In keeping the spirits occupied with my old Barbies.
Orchard: (share one thing you'd like to happen this autumn) Oh, that's hard. I think I'd want a partner so I dont go into winter depressed like I always do.
Crow: (which school subject do you have an aptitude for?) Math or English? Does choir count? Idk
Bonfire: (describe your dream house) Idc that much. As long as it has a library and multiple bedrooms, and the people I care about loving with me/nearby
Cinnamon: (if you had to live in a time period different than the present, which would you choose and where?) Either Ireland in the medieval times as a knight, or the 70s in Europe or the US.
Cranberry: (what is one physical feature you get complimented on?) Annoyingly, my boobs. Apparently they're big and nice, whatever. Recently, my hair though. I just cut it short.
Maize: (share the weirdest encounter you've had with a stranger on the street.) Last year, I was at the mall in a bathroom and an older woman (idk maybe 60?) came up to me and said "I'm either having a drink or I have to pee. You're living the golden years kid, not me." In hindsight I think she was just quoting John Mulaney at me, but it was weird to me when it happened.
Quilt: (how do you take your tea or coffee?) Tea, chai and Irish breakfast are my favorites, I really like green tea though. It has to be sweet though, I can't stand unsweetened tea (theres my mom's Texan coming out)
Pumpkin: (do you think that humans are inherently good or bad?) Neither, I think people are born blank slates and our experiences shape everything about us.
Moonlit: (are you a neat or messy person? Is your room/house orderly?) Hahahaha, what's a floor?
Flannel #1: (have you ever gone on a bad date?) No. I've only ever been on one date, and I thought it was pretty good. I dated one person who was an asshole but that's it.
Cocoa: (if you could have any type of hair, what color and cut would you have?) Probably my natural color (light brown, easiest to dye), cut short, but curly in texture instead of this wavyish shit.
Ghost: (is there someone that you miss having in your life?) Yeah. I mean she isn't dead, but my 6th grade best friend. I miss her.
Pumpkin spice: (what is your drink of choice?) Mt Dew, Dr. Pepper, or tea. But it has to be sweet.
Wool socks: (what is something you look forward to in fall?) If I lived anywhere but where I live this would work, my wardrobe is actually fitting for the type of weather. Coolish, with some breezes, and crisp. Warm sometimes. My flannel is great for that, but stupid Colorado snows nearly year round.
Falling leaves: (you're stranded on a desert island and here's the twist: what three things do you NOT bring with you?) A boat so I can live in solidarity, thank you very much, anyone that's homophobic, transphobic, antisemitic, racist, etc, and peanuts.
Smelly candles: (what's your absolute favorite scent?) Fredh baked apple pie 🤤
Big sweaters: (do you prefer the cold, warmth, or a perfect in-between?) I'm practically a living heater. So cold weather.
Halloween: (if you could dress up as anyone/anything and pull it off absolutely flawlessly, who/what would it be?) Idk if this counts, but whatever gender I currently identify with (nb, feminine, masculine, in between). If that doesn't, then Jensen Ackles.
Cozy blankets: (where do you feel the most safe and at home?) With TJ. He's my family.
Hot tea: (when was the last time you kissed someone?) July 21st at around.... 5 or 6am?
Flannel #2: (what's your favorite day of the year? Is there a reason it's your favorite?) I don't really have one.
Chilly air: (what's your least favorite and favorite type of weather?) Is it weird that snowing is both my favorite and least favorite type of weather depending on the time of year?
Scarves: (if you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?) My pair of black ripped guys skinny jeand with my dark blue distressed flannel and my wolf shirt.
Apple cider: (if you could throw a party and invite absolutely anyone, who would they be?) All of my close friends, plus the one I haven't seen in forever that I miss too much, and Misha Collins.
Haunted houses: (what's your scariest memory?) It was a dream I had when I was 5 that I remember in perfect detail. When I find the time I texted it to Kass I'll make a post with a screenshot of it.
Fuzzy boots: (if you could live in any year/era, which would it be and why?) See cinnamon above
Thanksgiving: (what is someone/something that you're most grateful for? Any particular reason?) That's hard. Can I say my best friends? That's only 3 people. And because they're always there and care about me and I love them.
Black friday: (what is one thing, if anything, that you would sell your soul to own?) The rights to be the writer of a Supernatural sequel.
Apple picking: (if you could go anywhere, where would it be and why?) Ireland. Castles. About 60% of my heritage. Green.
Corn mazes: (do you have any secret talents/abilities?) Not secret ones
Hay rides: (if you could pick absolutely anything to be your form of transportation, what would it be?) A 1967 4-door black Chevrolet Impala. Obviously.
The color orange: (do you have a specific song that reminds you of autumn? What is it?) Yeah, a few. Sweater Weather by The Neighborhood, Trees by twenty one pilots, Smithereens by twenty one pilots, Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snow (Hey Oh) by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blackbird by The Beatles, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Castle On The Hill by Ed Sheeran, Heartbeat by Carrie Underwood, and What I Got by Sublime. To name a few.
Windy nights: (if you could go to any concert whose would it be?) Live Aid lmao. If they dont have to be alive then Queen, if they do then either Ed Sheeran, twenty one pilots, or Panic!
Holding hands: (do you believe in soulmates?) Kinda? I think I want to. I think you feel it at one point, if you meet someone you love that dearly. But idk, maybe I'm just being stupid.
Kass, thank you. And I hate you.

QUINN AND HER TATTOOS, an update.
O N E.
SHE’S DRUNK, SO IT DOESN’T hurt as much as it probably should. They advised her to start off with something small ----- a quote, some lyrics ----- really ease herself into it, but she has something to prove, and stubborn mind is certain that no other girl in her grade will call her names again if she gets something as BOLD as this. Hasty sketch before they leave, one half r a g g e d with branches coming off it like the veins beneath her skin, the other half, the pure, beautiful face of a TIMBER WOLF. She’s not the best artist around, but they ask no further questions when she thrusts the picture in their direction and squeezes the hand of her best friend.
The whole session lasts about five and a half hours and hurts like a god damn bitch, but when she sees it starting to take form, she can’t help the massive GRIN that takes hold of her lips. The lone wolf, they nicknamed her. The person nobody could pin down and make theirs.
It’s totally worth being grounded.
T W O.
COLLEGE ISN’T AS EXCITING AS she’d thought it would be. Maybe it’s the perpetual state of grief she’s in, or perhaps it’s the knowledge that her kind of ex - boyfriend is locked up in prison for Heaven knows how long. She doesn’t know when he’s getting out, or even if he’ll get out at all, but her gossip - mongering mother seems to know ALL of the gory details and doesn’t at all mind yammering about it over the phone. Probably thinks it’ll make her see some sense, but Quinn doesn’t care. Knowing Charming, it was probably in the local rag, anyway.
‘ TEENAGER ARRESTED FOR VIOLENT GANG CRIME ! Turn to page six for more details. ’
She’s not stupid. It’s not as if the town doesn’t WHISPER about its resident gangs, and more predominantly the Sons of Anarchy. There was always a reason why Jax used to keep her so sheltered, and if you put two and two together, everything starts to make sense. Funny how she hasn’t thought about him in almost a year, and now she can’t help but think about him. Oh, and it’s his birthday. Happy birthday, Jax, she thinks, another shot slammed back as she begins to feel its inevitable buzz. It won’t make her forget ----- it never really does, no matter how much she drinks ----- but the building elation is nice, and she SMILES despite the missing cavity within her heart.
When she wakes up, there’s a dull THROBBING in her head and a sharp pain in her left arm. It takes her a minute for her to remember why before she peels back the bandages and stares in shock at the writing upon her inner wrist. At first, she thinks it’s just random numbers, but then she remembers the date, and her head pounds even harder. 09. 15. Jax’s birthday.
Fuck.
T H R E E.
HER FAVOURITE BAND HAD ALWAYS been Hole. A part of it was because the boys were obsessed with Nirvana and she liked the gratification she got from p i s s i n g them off, but an even bigger reason is because the lyrics sing to her. They’re loud and disgraceful and ever so SCANDALOUS. They practically scream of teenage rebellion, and it’s in that way that they call to her soul. She has all of their records, but her most listened to is ‘ Live Through This '. For some reason, it connects to her far more than the albums. She’s even made a mix tape of all of her favourite songs to listen to in the car, which she plays OVER AND OVER until she gets too lazy to rewind it back to the beginning again..
No one accompanies her this time. It’s meant to be a surprise. She wants to see the LOOK on her friends’ face when she shows them her arm. Her free hand g r i p s onto the arm of the chair, teeth sinking into her lower lip at the loud, consistent BUZZING of the needle, but considering the amount of time the last tattoo took to ink, this one passes like a breeze. They were right, quotes are easier to handle, but she won’t admit it out loud. The tattoo artist seems to notice her distress and is kind enough to let her listen to music as he works. Of course, she asks for Hole, handing the cassette over and clinging on to the one lyric as the grungy rock song begin to sound through their speaker system.
‘ I AM DOLL PARTS '. Disposable, irresistible, appearing human on the outside and nothing but EMPTY within. That’s how the world looks at her. Just another girl to be eaten up by the inevitable horde of judgment. For the first time, she doesn’t care what people think of her. It’s like a weight’s been LIFTED off her shoulders.
F O U R.
SOMETHING BIG IS COMING THEIR way, and there’s no stopping it when it does. Despite the temporary tranquility they’ve found in getting back the lost child, danger still RUMBLES in the distance like sudden thunder during a clear day. No one has to tell her what’s going on for her to know. It’s not news, it’s a feeling, clawing at her stomach and bringing bile to the back of her throat. She thinks the sting of a fresh tattoo might serve as a distraction, but it doesn’t work as well as she wants it to. Jax doesn’t want to let Abel out of his sight, but he’s also worried that something could happen to her, so they settle for him waiting with the kid in the car while Juice follows her inside. Hell, it hurts more than anything else she’s gotten done, but there’s no ignoring the urgent niggling sensation in the back of her mind.
When they touch back down on American soil, she expects everything to go back to normal. Naive thinking on her part, perhaps ( silly girl, never let yourself find COMFORT in the calm ), but can you blame her when she’s surrounded by smiling faces and something that almost resembles a ROUTINE ? She doesn’t think much about how long the p e a c e lasts ( maybe three, four days ? ) but it’s enough time for shit to hit the fan, and when it finally does, it feels like she’s been PUNCHED in the chest.
Hands grab roughly at her arms, dragging her away from the man she loves as a heavy, shocked SOB escapes from the back of her throat. The crudely - etched crown upon the back of her neck suddenly feels all too real. With the two main leaders gone, it leaves everyone else to pick up the pieces and their women with a considerable share of their power. She’d wanted a symbol of p o w e r and HOPE instead of the typical rose that most romantic links to the club get, but watching the van drive out of the auto - shop parking lot with MASCARA - STAINED tears running down her face and no clue what’s going on, she doesn’t seen strong and powerful. She feels like an abandoned dog in the middle of the desert.
Maybe this is how all the young kings and queens felt when they were left to look after their kingdom.

Greta Gerwig Is a Director, Not a Muse
By Noreen Malone, October 31, 2017.
source: http://www.vulture.com/2017/10/greta-gerwig-director-lady-bird.html
Dave Matthews Band is generally not considered cool anymore. Almost certainly, it never was in the downtown New York world of which the actress and writer Greta Gerwig has become a cool-girl-real-girl avatar in recent years. But in a time and place (America’s vast, yearning middle-class suburbs, in the cultural desert of the Clinton and early Bush years) and to a certain kind of person (such as a teenager aching for the jazz-adjacent cred that jam-band fandom could provide but more comfortable with white ball caps and lacrosse than ponchos and hallucinogens), Dave Matthews Band was Bob Dylan in Greenwich Village in 1966. And so there is a crucial moment in Lady Bird, Gerwig’s solo directorial debut, in which the title character, a Sacramento high-school senior in 2003, confronts the cruelest heartbreak imaginable to her by blasting the band’s ballad “Crash Into Me”: “Sweet like candy to my soul / Sweet you rock and sweet you roll.” The result is both sympathetic, and very funny.
“There was no other song it ever was going to be,” Gerwig said. “In preproduction, I realized I didn’t know what I was going to do if Dave said no [to its use]. I wrote him a letter. ‘Dear Mr. Dave Matthews … ’ ”
Gerwig was sitting at a small corner table near the window at Morandi in the West Village, not far from where she lives with the filmmaker Noah Baumbach. “I thought it was a really romantic song when I was a teenager. I would listen to it on repeat on a yellow CD player,” she said. “I couldn’t imagine a world in which a guy would feel that way about me.”
Maybe it was because of her sexy dirndl skirt of a name, maybe because of her squinting physical resemblance to indie Gen-X avatar Chloë Sevigny, maybe simply because of her distinctive delivery. But since the very beginning of Gerwig’s career, she has been a generational lightning rod of sorts. As what the New York Observer once called “the Meryl Streep of mumblecore” — the hyperlow-budget late-aughts movie movement led by directors like Joe Swanberg and the Duplass brothers — Gerwig was near-instantly labeled an “It” girl and invested with all sorts of theories about what her success and acting style meant. Her brand of hipness was confusing — was she really that earnest? Were they all that earnest? How could that possibly be cool? Critics, especially those of an older generation, were suspicious.
She was, unmistakably, a gifted actress. But the Guardian also called her “the poster girl for wayward, brittle middle-youth,” a “galumphing work in progress.” In The New Yorker, Ian Parker wrote that, despite having a “precise, literate mind,” Gerwig “has the air, not uncommon among her contemporaries, of having swallowed a very low dose of LSD.” “Ms. Gerwig, most likely without intending to be anything of the kind, may well be the definitive screen actress of her generation, a judgment I offer with all sincerity and a measure of ambivalence,” A. O. Scott wrote in the New York Times. “Part of her accomplishment is that most of the time she doesn’t seem to be acting at all. The transparency of her performances has less to do with exquisitely refined technique than with the apparent absence of any method.” And then there was this sort of thing: “While watching Greta Gerwig on screen, you might be tempted to kiss her,” wrote Stephen Heyman in T in 2010. “This is not meant purely as praise. Gerwig, 26, plays characters who are given to discursive verbal forays with oodles of ‘ummmms.’ So planting an unexpected kiss would not only be a recognition of her adorableness but also a useful way to shut her up.”
In a way, then, Lady Bird, a remarkably self-assured debut, feels like a rebuke. Or at least an assertion of artistic intent. At 34, and moving, finally, behind the camera, Gerwig is exiting the phase of her life where she’ll be asked to represent a mysterious, fascinating rising generation. The winds have shifted some, and the microgeneration after her is just as earnest (or more so) but culturally preoccupied less with its own emotional wanderings than with larger political questions of identity, and of race. Gerwig seems still to be considering, and even reclaiming, some of the traits that hers has been tagged with: nostalgia, that earnestness, parental attachment. In other words, what does it look like onscreen when millennial sincerity is treated not with mockery or puzzlement but with, well, sincerity?
Gerwig appears to be a genuinely sincere person, a kind of spiritually permanent college student, in a way that might get under the skin of someone with more ironic armor. She wears a giant Hello, Dolly! sweatshirt and an even more giant backpack. She references Tina Fey’s Bossypants like scripture and listens to podcasts about entrepreneurship (“The one about the woman who created Spanx made me sob”) and religion (“Krista Tippett” — the host of On Being — “is like my fucking queen”). She quotes Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel to express her sadness over the Harvey Weinstein mess: “In a free society, some are guilty; all are responsible.” She goes to church sometimes, and though she doesn’t subscribe to any particular denomination (“The Catholic theatrics are pretty high quality, but the Protestants have better hymns”), she’s really into the Quakers right now: “There’s nothing that you have to believe or avow. The only thing you have to believe is that the light of God exists within each person.” She really, really loved her single-sex education, both the high-school portion and at Barnard, where she was delighted to discover that all the doctors at the health center were gynecologists and enjoyed her time on the parliamentary debate team.
Gerwig’s enthusiasms extend also to Zumba, but what she really likes is a barre class run by this one woman from Portland, Oregon, whom she admires for her “body positivity,” and on the day we first met, she was, with some embarrassment, about to try something called the Class, in which Tribeca women combine burpees and cathartic screaming. “It seems like maybe the fitness equivalent of the toy poodle,” she said. “Like, you have to admit that you love them and you want one that’s tiny. You’d rather be the girl who has a German shepherd who goes for a run. Not one with a fluffy piece of lint who goes to a place where you chant with crystals.” She considered. “Before they poured the floor at the studio, I read, they put rose quartz everywhere, and I was like, I mean … I can get down with that.” She has a friend who works for Moon Juice, and so she speaks highly of its sprouted almonds, even if “I always thought it was kind of ironic when she’d be stressing out about the moon powders.”
The author and illustrator Leanne Shapton, who knows Gerwig and Baumbach from the neighborhood, spotted Gerwig and stopped to chitchat. Shapton, as it turned out, designed the font for Lady Bird’s title and credits: “She made an entire uppercase and lowercase alphabet and painted it ten times the size that it needed to be and shrunk it down so it looks like a font but has enough imperfections so there’s a density,” Gerwig told me after Shapton had walked away. “I feel like movies are presents, and credits and fonts are bows and wrapping paper.” She paused. “I like everything to feel like it was given a lot of time. I hate it when I watch movies and it seems like they just went and picked a font and, like, called it a day.” She paused again, considering Shapton. “I also have a crush on her because she’s very beautiful. She is cool in the way that everyone wants to be, but she’s also a real person.”
“I’ve made so many films in New York,” Gerwig said, that “there was an assumption I think a lot of people had that I am a New Yorker, that I am from New York, and I always felt like nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve done a good job of convincing you, but I’m not, as so many people who live in New York are not.”
Lady Bird, which is also Gerwig’s solo writing debut, is the story of a high-school senior (Saoirse Ronan) at an all-girls Catholic school in Sacramento who longs — despite her average grades — to be the star of the school play, to go to college on the East Coast, to be extraordinary. Though her name is Christine, she insists on being called “Lady Bird,” a pretension with which her salt-of-the-earth parents — a nurse and an out-of-work computer programmer, played with extraordinary sensitivity by Laurie Metcalf and Tracy Letts — comply. (It’s a complicated dynamic: Metcalf calls the mother character “totally passive-aggressive.”) The plot is a gentle one. Lady Bird acquires a couple of boyfriends (each recognizable as a classic type who might appeal to a smart-in-some-ways, really-not-in-others teenage girl), chases acceptance from the popular crowd, applies to colleges her family can’t afford to send her to.
Gerwig attended an all-girls Catholic school in Sacramento, with parents who worked as a nurse and a loan officer at a credit union, who sent her off to an expensive East Coast college, and although the movie has been widely discussed as a roman à clef, she says it’s not. For starters, Lady Bird is set in 2003, Gerwig pointed out, and she graduated in 2002. “I never made anyone call me another name. I never had dyed-red hair. She’s so much more wild and outspoken, and I think I was only ever that way in my head. In a way, I felt like I kind of put into her the sheer confidence and the id I find in 8- or 9-year-old girls. They’re just brash, and they don’t know that they should feel anything but great about themselves.
“When you write something you know, you’re making a story that will work, whether or not there’s bits taken. It’s always funny to me when people say, ‘Well, it’s clearly autobiographical,’ and I say, ‘Well, how do you know my autobiography?’ ” she continued. “Certainly, there are things that are connected, but I just think it’s a very interesting assumption. In some ways, it feels akin to the assumption that I’ve experienced as an actor when people say … ‘This is you.’ Which I’ve always taken as a compliment because it felt like you were watching a person.”
The teenage Gerwig was an extensive diarist, but she didn’t look up her old journals until after she’d finished the script, called “Mothers and Daughters” in a first draft that clocked in at 350 pages. (“It originally had a lot more dances,” she said.) When she opened the old pages, she was pleasantly surprised to find that she’d accurately remembered some of the tiny details — the rumor that clove cigarettes had fiberglass in them, the very fact of clove cigarettes at all — that make the movie so spot-on evocative of high school. But mostly it was the vividness of her feelings that struck Gerwig. “I would go on for pages and pages about this crush I had, dissecting every moment. ‘Did he notice that our arms were touching, or was that an accident?’ And then I wrote, ‘Upon further reflection, I think that this might’ve been a more vivid emotional experience for me than him.’ I was like, Oh, honey, nothing you’ve written is more true.”
When Gerwig was young, her parents made a point of taking her to local Sacramento theater — she proudly ticks off the names of the companies, and the playwrights whose work they put on, and even the directors. At Barnard, where she studied playwriting, she became a Kim’s Video devotee, methodically working her way through the director-organized shelves. (It was Claire Denis’s film Beau Travail, she said, that made her shift her focus from theater to movies.) She rejected traditional paths like law and medicine. “Chekhov was a country doctor, spent all his time with people and in their homes. I was like, Well, that’s good, and then I was like, Well, I’m not interested in it, and also I don’t like blood, and there are no country doctors anymore,” she said. “The idea that I would become a doctor to become more like Chekhov is a pretty circular route.”
After college, Gerwig lived all over Brooklyn — East Williamsburg, Prospect Heights, deep Park Slope, or “Park Slide,” as she says fondly. She had odd jobs, including at the Box, the Lower East Side cabaret, and began working with Swanberg, whom she had met through a college boyfriend and who was making interesting movies that were unlike anything that had been done before, for almost no money.
Mumblecore was a big deal, for a small movement, in part for what it seemed to reveal about a certain slice of young, college-educated, mostly white people trying to figure out how they related to the world. It was hailed in the Times as something that “bespeaks a true 21st-century sensibility, reflective of MySpace-like social networks and the voyeurism and intimacy of YouTube. It also signals a paradigm shift in how movies are made and how they find an audience.”
Gerwig now physically cringes at the mere mention of the word mumblecore. “I just hate it,” she said. “It feels like a slight every time I hear it. Because of the improvisational quality of those movies, and the fact that everyone was nonprofessional, I have had a bit of an uphill battle just to say ‘I know how to act.’ I didn’t stumble into this. I wasn’t just a kid.” But she credits her roles in those films — Nights and Weekends, Hannah Takes the Stairs, Baghead — with helping teach her to write. “We called them ‘devised films,’ because we’d know the characters and what was supposed to happen in the scenes but not the words. It was a way of writing while I was acting.”
It was also that set of films — which made a bigger splash in the indie-movie scene than in the culture at large — that put her on Baumbach’s radar. (He actually recommended her to his agent before the two had ever met.) When Baumbach cast her in 2010’s Greenberg, released when she was 26, it was her big break. Shortly after he divorced his wife, the actress Jennifer Jason Leigh (Gerwig had trained for the role, in part, by working as an assistant to Leigh’s mother), the two began their romance. Baumbach and Gerwig turned an email correspondence into a project: The duo co-wrote Frances Ha and Mistress America, both starring Gerwig and both markedly sweeter than anything Baumbach had worked on in the past. “I liked what she was writing so much that it made me work harder with my own to impress her,” Baumbach said.
This collaboration led to a spate of headlines referring to Gerwig not as a partner on the works but as their muse. “The actress Greta Gerwig has had the same liberating effect on Noah Baumbach as Diane Keaton had on Woody Allen: she has opened him up, lending his films a giddy sense of release,” went one typical summation in the Economist.
“I did not love being called a muse,” said Gerwig bluntly. “I didn’t want to be strident about it or say, ‘Hey, give me my due,’ but I did feel like I wasn’t a bystander. It was half-mine, and so that part was difficult. Also I knew secretly that I was engaged with this longer project, and wanted to be a writer and director in my own right, so I felt like the muse business, or whatever it was, was a position that I didn’t identify with in my heart. But I think one thing I learned early because of the group of movies that are called mumblecore” — she slowed down, a little archly, over the word, to acknowledge again her discomfort with it — “is not to attach too much to the moment you’re living through from a press perspective. I also had this sense of, Well, they’ll just eat their hat one day.”
TV was one idea when Gerwig hit a dry spell with acting gigs after making Frances Ha and Mistress America. “I felt like I had done things that I was incredibly proud of and I felt like I had authorship over, and done good work as an actor, but my wheels weren’t catching purchase with whatever the Zeitgeist was,” she said, forking her pasta. It was a curious double identity as an actress — plausibly the face of a generation, particularly of the privileged of that generation, and, just as plausibly, a near-anonymous actress who hadn’t yet made anything that any real number of people had actually seen. She met with the producers behind How I Met Your Dad, a planned spinoff of the long-running, quietly beloved CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and signed up for the starring role, along with a writing role. “It felt like this incredible lifeline for me. It felt like a place to give myself some structure,” she said of what looked from the outside like a bit of a career swerve. Not to mention that she was told it was a “sure thing.” The pilot wasn’t picked up. “They send the shows to Vegas, and people sit there with knobs, and they turn the knob down if they don’t like an actor,” Gerwig explained with a little embarrassment. “Nobody exactly told me I tested low, but it was insinuated that America did not like it.”
But that allowed her to turn to directing. “By the time I started, I felt like I had ten years of training. My film school was as an actor and co-writer and co-director, and whatever else I did, which included costuming, and holding the boom, and editing. It was a way for me to get my Malcolm Gladwell hours in.” She also benefited from more targeted instruction, in recent years, from DPs who’d heard she wanted to direct and let her sit with them while they constructed their shots. “When I finished the script, I had a moment with myself where I thought, You’re either going to do this now or you’re never going to do this,” she said. “Now you have to make your mistakes and get your gifts because you have to, at some point, jump. I think a lot of women have also particularly a need to feel that they can stand in their own expertise before doing something. A lot of my female friends will be so overqualified for what they do that by the time they do it, it’s like, Well, obviously.”
During the press tour for Mistress America, a journalist asked about whether dating Baumbach, and then writing with him, had opened certain doors for her. Gerwig acknowledged that perhaps it had, proximally, but refused to concede the larger point. “I don’t mean to sound annoying,” she told the reporter, “but I would have done it anyway. I will find that one door and then push it wide open. I’m lucky to find collaborators and kindred spirits. But I don’t need a man, and I would have done it anyway.”
A confident, direct version of ambition is another generational trait that Gerwig seems to comfortably inhabit. Recently, she saw Saoirse Ronan in London to promote the film; Ronan told her she was beginning to think about whether she could direct, inspired in part by watching her on set. “Greta is the one that I’d want to emulate,” Ronan told me. “She was incredibly clear about what she wanted but also supportive about finding our own way through the characters. We’ve been talking in a practical way, too, about stories that I’d like to do and if I could work with her in that regard. She’s a great one for the advice.”
Ronan was also struck by Gerwig’s actorly approach to directing. “She had very clearly mapped out each character’s journey, what it would be like to be a kid in post-9/11 America in California, how complicated it would be to think about leaving Sacramento for the first time,” but also “she gave us an awful lot of freedom to incorporate our own selves.” Gerwig even gave Timothée Chalamet, who plays one of Lady Bird’s love interests — a self-styled high-school intellectual — a syllabus for “what a paranoid anarchist type of thinker would have been reading back then,” he said, which included, in addition to the requisite Howard Zinn that shows up in the movie, The Internet Does Not Exist, an essay collection that warns of the dangers of a networked world. She also asked him to watch Eric Rohmer’s My Night at Maud’s, which she told me contains a character who is an example of a long-standing type: “These guys who are just completely stuck on their ideas, whether music or progressive philosophy or whatever it is. Like, ‘I’m going to train you to like Pavement.’ ” Gerwig also gave specific directions on how to play the many comic moments in the script: Humor was to be achieved not through comic acting but by playing the situation with all the seriousness with which a high schooler would feel it. “I like things that are funny,” Gerwig said, “but I don’t like things that are in quotes.”
Gerwig plans to tip the balance of her work going forward more toward writing and directing (though she’d like to keep acting). “You just stay in it long enough, and eventually you’ll just be old.” Nobody will worry over whether you are an actor or a director or a writer. “Everyone will just think, Oh, she’s such a wonderful 75-year-old now. She’s our lady Clint Eastwood.”
She has one script, something she wrote before Lady Bird, in the drawer, but for her next project, “I have an inkling of wanting to make something that’s more silent, literally fewer words.” She wouldn’t give any more detail, however. “I worry if I put an idea out in the sunlight too early, it shrivels, and I don’t want to shrivel anything right now.”
Baumbach’s most recent film, The Meyerowitz Stories, was released on Netflix and in theaters just a few weeks before Lady Bird, which comes out on November 3. Both movies open with a parent and child, driving together, on the cusp of the difficult moment when college is about to force that relationship into its next, more distant, phase; both puncture the sweetness of the scene by someone melting down immaturely. In Baumbach’s film, it’s the parent. In Gerwig’s, it’s the daughter.
With Mistress America and Frances Ha, said Baumbach, the pair were able to create “a synthesis” of their two voices, “a kind of a third thing that allows you to try different selves on.” But the couple have strikingly different tones to their independent work, although they tread the same thematic ground (and give each other notes on drafts). Family, in much of Baumbach’s filmography, has been a source of neuroticism for his protagonists, often children picking up the pieces, learning to overcome the limits of a selfish, immature parent’s love. Lady Bird, by contrast, is about a child failing to recognize, in the moment, the expansiveness and totality of her parent’s love for her — as well as the complicated dynamic between teen girls and their mothers, even those who are fond of each other. Baumbach, though, sees their emotional truths as more related. Both movies, he said, are about “how hard it is to acknowledge positive things in someone you need to move away from, and how hard it is to leave.” Gerwig’s story is, in her phrasing, “a movie about wanting to leave a place that’s secretly a love letter to the place, and a movie ostensibly about a daughter that’s secretly about the mother.”
“Oh, I’ve got a lot of guilt,” Gerwig replied quickly when I mentioned that I had seen the film as, in part, a meditation on that particular emotion, and how deeply it can become intertwined with love. “We always joked that we should put up a title card at the end of the movie that said CALL YOUR MOTHER,” she said. The guilt kicked in. “I need to call my mother.”
Gerwig showed her parents and friends the script before shooting and screened the film for them before it premiered, but she also spent a lot of time considering how she’d treated her mother as a teenager. “I could only see the faults in clear relief, but as I’ve gotten older, it’s like, Goddamn, she was right about almost everything.”
For all that she insists Lady Bird isn’t exactly her own story, it feels like a coming-out of sorts for Gerwig’s own sensibility, her preoccupations. “I only ever write from a place of love,” said Gerwig, “which sounds goofy but is actually true. Some writers write from a place of anger or analysis, or something that feels more didactic, but that impulse means that I also write out of real love, which is complicated and changing.”
“Sincerity means a lot to me,” Gerwig continued. “Actually, in Frances Ha, at the beginning, she’s reading out of a literary-criticism book called Sincerity and Authenticity. Basically, the question she’s setting up is, what do we mean by sincerity, and does it diminish the thing?” She considered. “But I’ve always felt like it heightens it.”

Charles Mansons Influence on The Music Industry [research]
Although Manson was seen , with his piercing eyes, as the poster boy of hate and murder Charles was actually an aspiring musician prior to his leadership of the Manson family Cult. Influential artists such as Neill Young and John Lennon have often spoke highly of him, Lennon once even said 'I think a lot of the things he says are true'. Manson even went on to write a song for The Beach Boys. Young Was so inspired by Manson's art of 'song spewing' that he once gave Charlie a motorcycle for helping him finish an arrangement. A side from west side Californian sunshine boys, artists from both the underground and mainstream have covered Manson's music. The most famous of whom would be Guns 'n' Roses who covered the song 'Look at Your Game Girl' on There album 'The Spaghetti Incident' (1992) Which has gone on to sell 5.5 million copies worldwide. This caused a stir which resulted in lawsuit after lawsuit from families of the Tate/LeBianca murders, most notably Sharon Tate's.
Guns and Roses - Look at Your game girl
While influential to the mainstream, Charles Manson has also been a major figure in the underground music scene since the moment the trial began. the band Trobbing Gristle, pioneers in the industrial music scene, were pushing a lot of Manson imagery out into the fold of the early 70's. Like many others Genesis P. Orridge (The founder of Throbbing Gristle) still holds the belief that Manson didn't receive a fair trial in the american judicial system "also theres no question in my mind that he didn't get a fair trial.
NYC experimental alt-rock band, Sonic Youth were often influenced by the darker side of American Culture. their album 'Bad Moon Rising' includes a song inspired by Manson titled 'Death Valley 69'.
Sonic Youth - Death Valley 69
The north American South West seems to be a hot bed for Manson. The energy he created and what he has provoked there still runs through the lands. in September 2001, the week of 9/11 LA Group, System of a Down, released the album 'Toxicity' and was very critical of US culture, There modern ways of life and the political nature of there military-industrial complex. 'ATWA' an acronym for Air, Trees, Water and Animals which was a popular slogan of Manson's and also an Environmental group he founded, Was the total of a song on the album of the avant-nu metal outfit. the bands Guitarist, Daron Malakian would often include statements said by Manson and quote him in interviews to test how gullible people are as more often then not they would agree completely with what he was saying.
System of a Down - 'ATWA'
In 2010 a Sacramento based Industrial-Hip Hop group broke onto the underground music scene, led by percussionist, Zach Hill. Death Grips had a raw rough around the edges sound bringing fear to the rather safe celebrity driven music world. The band popped onto the scene trough uploading a frantic visual of MC Ride sat in the passenger side of a vehicle in the lo-fi viral video for 'Guillotine'.
Death Grips - 'guillotine'
Around the same time as the 'Guillotine' Video death grips released 'Beware' which was accompanied by a pretty prominent Manson sample to start the song. In the sample Manson delivers a speech in which he talks about his own personal dealings with society (the game) and the music industry. During the speech he mostly talks about the 'pop world' and how major labels work and he ends it with 'The game is mine, I deal the cards'. strongly this oddly represents how Death Grips would stick the finger to their future label, Epic Records run by L.A. Reid (delivering an album to the world themselves after a battle with the label feat. drummer Zach Hill’s erect penis uncensored on the cover). In the Video for 'Beware' MC Ride can be seen running through Death Valley, the area of death valley where the Manson Family home was located. Later on in Death grips discography in the silent film/music video for 'Come up and get me' a shot of frontman MC Ride would appear where he is sat under the kitchen sink, pictured in the exact same way Manson was moments before his apprehension by authorities in the Death Valley desert... Hiding under an old-school kitchen sink with a curtain covering the under carriage.

This is a sort of difficult post, I will however make it a Happy Birthday, things will become clear as you read on.
Christina 'Licorice' McKechnie was born in Edinburgh in 1945, there is nothing about her early life online that I can find, her story starts when she left home-and was set to marry, the late great Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch. The banns had been called, (Banns were a legal requirement and were an intention of marriage, posted for people to see in their parish,) the wedding never took place, Jansch left Scotland for Morroco, it was some time after this that "Likkie" as she was known already knew Robin Williamson from her time reading her poetry at folk clubs in Edinburgh, no doubt this is also where she met Jansch.
Likkie began a relationship with Williamson who along Robin,Clive Palmer and Mike Heron had form The Incredible String Band, the group split for a time when Williamson and Likkie went travelling but reformed on their return as a duo with Heron. They later played on the same bill as Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, Likkie joined then as vocalist and they recorded the album, The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion.
The band went on to have success touring but had little commercial success. They got involved with Scientology in the 60's and it is said to have contributed to a decline in their music quality, they did however play Woodstock in 69, they were scheduled to play the first day and a fee of $4500 had been agreed, this would have been a huge sum for them back in the 60's and you would have thought bigger things beckoned. The band didn't appear on the film of the festival as they refused to play in the rain, their slot was taken by the fabulous Melanie (Safka) who later wrote "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" about her day. "String Band" played the next day on a mainly rock day, the world missed out and so did they.
By late 1969, they had established a communal base at Glen Row near Innerleithen, Likkie and Robin split around this time although she remained in the group till 1972. After a failed marriage to musician Brian Lambert she featured on an album with Williamson and his Merry men and an album with Woody Woodmansey's band U-Boat.
It's after this that very little of her is known, Christina visited her family in Edinburgh in 1986, her sister said she was in Sacramento California four years later.
Music journalist Mark Ellen wrote in Mojo magazine in 2000 that she was "last seen in 1987 hitchhiking across the Arizona Desert. Not even her family has heard from her since." Fellow former Incredible String Band member Rose Simpson was quoted as saying: "... There's a possibility she may be dead."
Trying to find info on Likkie is tough, some say she must be dead, there have been mentions that she (is) "living in plain sight in California" If she is still alive she will be 72 today, I hope she is, and I hope she is happy and still living the Hippie lifestyle she seemed to embrace.
I know most of you won't even listen this but those that do Likkie plays guitar and does backing vocals, most of the time she is concentrating on her guitar but around 55 secs you will get a lovely smile to see how she is enjoying the song.

Tag Thing- 11 Questions (from a bunch of people)
Rules: always post the rules, answer the questions given to you, write 11 questions of your own and tag 11 people. I’m not going to tag anyone and write questions because this post is already crazy long.
@runesandfaes
My Questions: 1. When is your birthday?
8/27
2. Favorite season?
Fall
3. Favorite villain?
Umm of movies or books it’s super early and my brain isn’t fully functioning yet.
Books I love The Darkling and I suppose Heathcliff is deemed a villain.
Movies- Jareth the Goblin King.
4. Stars or the Moon?
Stars.
5. Favorite book?
Wuthering Heights.
6. An unpopular opinion?
Nesta Archeron is a completely normal character. She’s been through shit, yeah she’s not the nicest but if you reread her 4-5 chapters she’s in in ACOTAR you’ll see that precious Feyre actually started that fight at dinner.
7. If you could be any mythological/magical creature, what would you be?
Siren for sure. Power to use your voice to make shit happen can’t pass that up.
8. Which book character can you see yourself in the most (Personality/Character traits-wise)?
Nesta Archeron. Although Callie from the Bargainer has some solid inner commentary I relate to.
9. Which book character, in your opinion, do you think would be the best partner for you?
Well shit umm I always fall for the troubled, morally questionable men in real life and fiction. So I’d probably go for Des or Cass but the healthiest option would probably be someone like Gideon Lightwood.
10. If you could control any one of the 4 elements, which would you choose?
Fire and water would probably be the most fun but air and earth have more power. I’d go with air, you could put fires out by lowering the oxygen or push it forward with wind. You could use the wind to cool places down or move heat around.
11. Your OTP?
Hmm Nessian from ACOTAR, Elorcan from TOG, Delypso from The Bargainer. Wissa? (Will and Tessa) from TID, Warenette from Shatter Me, I haven’t started Lady Midnight but I’ve heard I’m going to ship the hell out of Emma and Julian.
@feyre-and-aelin
My questions:
1.How did you get into SJM?
Amazon kept recommending ACOTAR and I’d seen it on bookstagram a lot with the “stars that listen” quote. I read both ACOTAR and ACOMAF about 2 months before ACOWAR. When I got done I immediately bought the TOG series and the rest is history.
2. What would you do with a million dollars?
I’d love to say I’m a wonderful person that would do a lot with it and help a lot of people but I’m going to be realistic. I’d pay off all my parent’s bills, my brother’s bills and student loans, travel the world, buy a small piece of land up in New Hampshire, and build a small house next door to my parents. Make a donation to The Progeria Research Foundation, small things for my friends like a plane ticket for B to see her family for Christmas, a year of diapers for my friend who has a little monster. Then I’d save whatever is left.
3. Do you consider yourself a morning or night person?
Morning by default. If I had any say in the matter I’d be a night person. Unfortunately 6 years of having to wake up at 4:30 AM every morning has turned me into a morning person.
4. What tv series are you into right now?
Actually good shows: Game of Thrones, Black Sails even though it just finished, Law and Order: SVU, HTGAWM, Grey’s Anatomy.
Trash t.v.: Vanderpump Rules, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Cheshire, Below Deck and Below Deck Med.
5. What’s your favorite tumblr blog(s)?
I’m going to forget people I know so I’ll just go with the ones I’ve talked to lately or can remember off the top of my head. @catastrophicallyinlovewithbooks, @cassiancalore, @highladyofdreamcourt, @dr-woodsprite, @regularlyconfused, @feyre-and-aelin(I know that’s you), @paperbacktrash, @lronteeth, @rowan-buzzard-whitethorn, @modernbookfae, @runesandfaes, @highladyofnorta@highladyofnorta
I apologize in advance you guys are going to get a notification that you were tagged in a super personal post with my answer to Luna below.
6. If you had to pick one fictional character to spend the rest of your life with, who would it be?
Yikes umm I’d go with Cassian or Desmond Flynn. Cassian can cook and that’s helpful as hell because I don’t want to be the only one cooking for the rest of my life. He’s funny, good looking, and he could teach me how to fight. We don’t know much about how he acts in a relationship though so idk. Des on the other hand can’t cook but he can do magic to make your favorite foods appear, and he remembers shit like that. He’s great at dirty talk and always seems to leave Callie satisfied but wanting more. At this point in time I’d have to go Des because I know more about him.
7. If you were stranded on a deserted island and there was one naturally growing thing there for you to eat, what would you want it to be?
Super hard question. Cashews because they’re high in protein and other vitamins. And you don’t have to cook them.
8. How many followers do you have atm?
909
9. What would you say is your favorite thing in the world?
Books because people and pets aren’t things. Otherwise I’d say my family.
10. Would you go back inside a burning house to save your pet(s)?
Yes.
11. Have you seen/did you like Spiderman: Homecoming?
Not yet. I’m slacking on my Marvel movies I still haven’t seen Doctor Strange.
@lronteeth asked
1) Which event in history you’d want to witness if you could time travel?
I used to say Salem Witch Trials but then I went and visited and a solid number of the women killed were named Sarah/Sara so that’s not a thing anymore. So I’ll go with the War of the Roses because English history fascinates me.
2) How did you meet your best friend?
We went to the same day care as babies and were in the same kindergarten class.
3) If you can be invisible for a day, what would you do?
I’m boring I’d hide and read uninterrupted.
4) Your first kiss story
So this isn’t going to be cute or romantic at all fair warning it’s dark as hell. I’m usually a super distant person and I love pushing people away so my first kiss didn’t happen until I was 16. It was my guy best friend Adam. We were hanging out after school and we fell asleep on the couch in my living room. Sometime around 2AM I woke up to him on top of me kissing me with his hand down my pants. Yay violating someone without their consent. Because I was young and stupid I was freaked out but not for the right reasons. At the time, I cared less that things went down the way they did and more upset that I thought we were just friends. He informed me that “it was romantic like a fairytale where the guy wakes the girl up by kissing her.” So yeah there’s that.
5) Most embarrasing memory
I once texted an older guy friend in a band “good luck” but my phone corrected it to “good lick” and I didn’t even notice the typo until he questioned it.
6) Best 3 books you’ve read this year
-A Strange Hymn, Heir of Fire, The Sun is Also a Star
